Orionid meteor over the tall pine trees in the backyard early this morning. By this time, (2:30 am), I was almost frozen solid and a bit unsettled because the woods behind us are home to a variety of wildlife that make very strange, sudden noises at night. The best thing about colder weather is the amount of clear, peaceful nights and an abundance of meteor showers. Other than that, fall foliage and the occasional snow day, I’ll take summer all year long.
