All I wanted to see was “The Tree” and I’ve always wanted to visit New York, especially around Christmas. We took the early train and spent the day being tourists. I’ll never forget the sweet smell coming from the roasted peanut carts or the blurred faces of the people rushing by in the crosswalks. I fell in love with the architecture, the part it played in building the horizon and how it seemed to protect everyone within its walls. We stopped at a few pubs, ate some amazing food, took a trip on the subway and a horse and carriage ride through Central Park. On the train home, I fell asleep on his shoulder.
